Introduction:

A fascinating trek and climb within heart of massive Annapurna Himalaya range, where exciting adventure leads you on top Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli Climb, a peak with both local and foreign names.

The name due to its shape of the peaks as seen from Annapurna base camp and within the sanctuary as a rocky tent shaped towards its summit top, where the word Tharpu Chuli is called by Gurung tribes the major hill people of Annapurna region.

Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli towers above 5,663 m / 18,575 ft high located due North from scenic Sanctuary and Annapurna main base camp, although a lesser and below 6,000 m in elevation but leads you to a challenging with high technical experience effort to reach its summit.

Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli listed as grade PD + which means ‘Per Difficule’ in French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification, a straightforward climb but with few technical sections to tackle towards its rocky and ice summit top.

Our adventure leads you from Kathmandu towards picturesque Pokhara heading towards Mid West within Annapurna Himalaya region.

From scenic Pokhara an enchanting and most popular tourist destination in all Himalaya due to it closeness to mountains surrounded with green hills where the snow capped Annapurna Himalaya reflects on its calm and serene Phewa and Begnas Lakes.

After a short drive from Pokhara, and then our actual trek begins following the Modi River right up to its source at Annapurna Sanctuary fed from the glaciers of many peaks of Annapurna Himalaya.

 

Walking follows through nice and lovely Gurung farm villages of interesting culture exploring traditional life of the local mountain villages and then entering into green forested areas within Modi River gorge and soon reaching to a wide open plateau at Annapurna Sanctuary.

 

Annapurna Sanctuary enclosed within series of snow capped peaks with excellent views of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Tharpu Chuli / Tent Peak (5,663 m), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft) to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) and more.

 

At Annapurna base camp with rest and acclimatization days with super views and then heading beyond for Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli climb past its moraine and glaciers reaching at Tent peak base camp.

 

At Tent Peak base camp with time for practice climb and preparation then heading to our grand ascent using Advance or High Camp to make the climb more accessible and easier then reach the summit of Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli.

 

With vigorous haul to the top offers you with incredible views of amazing landscapes and peaks that surrounds you, after a great climb descend safely back to base camp and onwards towards sanctuary heading towards the road head to reach at scenic Pokhara.

 

At Pokhara our awesome adventure of a lifetime experience concludes after being on top of Tent Peak/ Tharpu Chuli Climb and then back at hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu.

 

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Tent Peak Climb.
Day 03:            Drive to Pokhara 860 m – 06 hrs.
Day 04:            Drive to Nayapul (trek point) and trek to Ghandruk 1,940m -04 hrs.
Day 05:            Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m – 06 hrs.
Day 06:            Trek to Dovan 2,600 m via Bamboo 2,310 – 06 hrs.
Day 07:            Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08:            Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m – 03 hrs with free afternoon.
Day 09:            At Annapurna Base Camp for acclimatization and preparation for the climb.
Day 10:            Trek to Tent peak base camp 4,450 m / 14,600 ft – 05 hrs.
Day 11:            Trek to high camp 4,800 m – 04 hrs.
Day 12:            Climb Tent Peak 5,663 m high and return to base camp – 08 hrs.
Day 13:            Spare and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather condition on climb.
Day 14:            Trek back to Annapurna Base Camp – 05 hrs.
Day 15:            Trek back to Bamboo 2,310 m – 06 hrs.
Day 16:            Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m – 05 hrs.
Day 17:            Trek to Bhirethati and drive to Pokhara – 07 hrs.
Day 18:            Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 19:            In Kathmandu free day with individual activities.
Day 20:            International departure for home ward bound.
