Dhampus / Thapa Peak towers high above beautiful and scenic hidden valley at above
6,012 m and 19,839 ft high, located at the end of Hidden Valley within great massive range of world’s seventh highest Mt. Dhaulagiri 8,167m with Tukuche Peak 7,123 m.

Adventure to Dhampus / Thapa Peak leads you around marvelous country of North Far West Nepal Himalaya, taking an overland journey from Kathmandu to reach at scenic and famous Pokhara blessed with natural beauty of lakes and mountains.

From Pokhara heading due west past farm villages and town of Beni to reach our trekking point at Darbang at the junction of Dhaulagiri and Dhorpatan route, from here heading into mid hills exploring Magar people villages and farms.

As the walk progress heading much higher on leaving the last farm village and human settlement for many days into complete wilderness of mountains and ice fields where walk leads into deep green forest of tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir tree lines and soon vegetation ends reaching at remorseless fields of ice and glaciers at Dhaulagiri base camp.

From scenic Hidden valley heading towards our main goal of the adventure for the climb of Dhampus / Thapa peak, where the grade listed as PD means ‘per difficule’ from French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification a straightforward climbing peaks with some technical difficulties to tackle on route the summit top.

With our staff and guide full support reaching the summit at above 6,012 m and 19,839 ft high where you feel high with grand panorama of Nilgiris, Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft) to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) 6,997 m with 08th highest Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m, range of mountains with Lamjung Himal towards far eastern horizon.

After a wonderful and exciting climb heading down towards Kaligandaki River valley of Lower Mustang to join at popular and famous Annapurna circuit trekking route

Thapa / Dhampus Peak Climb adventure starting with a drive to low warm areas of Pokhara and Beni and heading towards cooler alpine zone of thick alpine forest of tall pines-oaks-rhododendron and fir tree lines and heading for some day in pure wilderness within pure wilderness of moraine-ice and glaciers beneath towering North Face of Mt. Dhaulagiri at 8,167 m high with tumbling Ice Falls.

One of the few treks in the Himalaya region where you can follow the river right to its glacial source within massive glaciers of Dhaulagiri and adjoining satellite peaks from I –II – III to Dhaulagiri groups of peaks which extends towards Mustang and Dolpo regions.

Our fascinating adventure leads over a high French Pass to reach at beautiful hidden valley, wide pasture areas for yaks and other cattails, with enough rest and acclimatization our actual adventure begins from here for the climb of Thapa / Dhampus Peak a stunning peak located at the edge of hidden valley towering at 6,012 m high.

The climb is graded PD + using from French and Swiss alpine climbing system and classifications, a straightforward climb with some technical effort in few sections to its summit top, where our expert guide will lead you to the summit and back safe and sound.

After an exciting climb with awesome panorama from the top, heading downhill towards Kaligandaki river valley at lower Mustang areas around charming Marpha village and Jomsom town for scenic short flight back to Pokhara and then an interesting drive to Kathmandu, where our magnificent and memorable adventure Thapa / Dhampus Peak Climb concludes.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01:            Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02:            In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Dhampus / Thapa Peak Climb.
Day 03:            Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)
Day 04:            Drive to Darbang 1,200 m via Beni 900 m -06 hrs.
Day 05:            Trek to Riverside1, 700 m – 04 hrs.
Day 06:            Trek to Bagar 2,375m -05 hrs.
Day 07:            Trek to Dovan 2,600m-06 hours.
Day 08:            Trek to Chartare / Bhaisi Kharka 3,000m -05 hrs.
Day 09:            Trek to Pakhaban (Japanese Camp.) 3,750m -05 hrs.
Day 10:             Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp 4,750m – 06 hrs.
Day 11:              Trek to Hidden Valley 4,900m via French Pass 5,360m.
Day 12:              At Hidden Valley preparation for the climb of Dhampus / Thapa peak.
Day 13:              Trek to Thapa / Dhampus Peak High Camp – 04 hrs.
Day 14:              Climb Thapa / Dhampus peak and return to base camp at hidden valley.
Day 15:              Reserve and Contingency day in case of bad unfavorable weather condition.
Day 16:              Trek to Yak Kharka 4,915m – 05 hrs.
Day 17:              Trek to Marpha 2,670 m and drive to Jomsom 2,715 m – 05 hrs.
Day 18:              Fly to Pokhara 22 mins of scenic flight and transfer to hotel near Phewa Lake.
Day 19:              Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 20:             In Kathmandu free day with individual activities.
Day 21:              International departure for home ward bound.
